Any of the Ethernet ports of the switch can function as an uplink. Connect any port to the Ethernet (LAN) port of your router using an Ethernet cable.

Great Value 2.5G Network Switch

This is my review of the "BrosTrend 5 Port 2.5Gb Ethernet Switch"When it comes to cheaply priced electronics, I am usually a little skeptical. This switch is considerably cheaper than the name-brand switches it's competing against. However, I've been using it for a few months now, and I am happy to report that it exceeded my expectations and is operating well.The build quality is nothing to write home about. It's a completely plastic casing with a ton of ventilation holes spread all over. The lack of any metal or fans led me to believe that it would either throttle, or burn itself up when subjected to sustained high-bandwidth network loads. But the ventilation holes do a surprisingly good job, as I don't notice any sort of throttling at all.As far as performance goes, I'm impressed that it hits full 2.5g bandwidth when transferring files between to 2 devices. I tried transferring several-hundred gigabyte files between my Laptop and PC and it stayed extremely consistent run-to-run. Unfortunately, I don't have more than (2) 2.5g capable devices, so I can't speak on the throughput regarding the total switching capacity.Overall the BrosTrend switch provides exceptional value at an extremely competitive price. I would recommend this switch to anyone that's trying to dip their toes in 2.5G network speeds. In the coming years, 2.5G will be the norm for most new network connected devices.
